Cedar Strip Epoxy Canoe Kits
At CARRYING PLACE CANOE WORKS we have 4 different types of superior
quality cedar strip epoxy canoe kits. In producing our kits, the same
care is taken as in the hand-crafting of our superior quality canoes.
The materials are of the highest standard available.
The BRONZE and GOLD kits require more work on behalf of
the builder. The SILVER and PLATINUM kits are deluxe kits
that have most of the labour intensive work done and include deluxe parts
and fittings.
The BRONZE or SILVER kits
will build 12', 14' or 15' canoes. The GOLD or PLATINUM
kits will build our 16' and 17' canoes.
THE BRONZE KIT:

- 55 red cedar full length strips (7/8" x length required)
with bead & cove edges
- 6 pieces 1/4" x 2" x 4' clear white ash for inner
& outer stems
- 2 (3/4" x 3/4") ash inwales
- 2 (5/8" x 3/4") outwales (gunnels)
- 2 white ash deck blanks
- 1 thwart blank
- 2 white ash nylon laced seats
- 8 ash drilled seat spacers
- 11 yards velum fibreglass cloth

THE SILVER KIT:

& outer stems with forward edge bevelled
- 2 white ash deck blanks
- 2 clear white ash inwales, beveled to fit tumblehome, steamed
and bent to fit sheerline, tapered and scuppered for easy water
drainage and less weight

Notes:
- All our kits are provided with sanding discs that fit the Porter Cable
model 7336 - 6" heavy duty, variable speed, random orbital sander.
We recommend using this sander for a high quality professional finish
with much less effort and frustration. In all our kits, we provide the
necessary sanding discs. The Porter Cable sander is available through
us or your local dealer.
